Gear & Equipment

Fujifilm X-T20 Mirrorless Camera

I often get asked which camera I use for my trips. For my photos featured on trips from the second half of 2017 onwards, all my photos were taken using this Fujifilm X-T20, with 18-55mm F2.8-4.0. It’s a really powerful camera!

Olympus Pen Compact Mirrorless Camera

On days that I really want a compact yet still powerful camera, I bring my older Olympus E-PL7 camera out. Plenty of my trips before the second half of 2017 were documented by this baby!

Kindle Paperwhite E-Reader

Always inside my travel bag, a Kindle lets me read e-books without hurting my eyes, whether during the flight or some light reading before bed. It’s way more comfortable to hold a Kindle for reading than your mobile or tablet, I promise.

Macbook Air 13``

The perfect laptop for working while travelling. The Macbook Air is small and light with a battery that doesn’t run out too fast. My laptop has travelled to at least Santorini, Tokyo, Taiwan and S.Korea with me!

SKROSS Pro Plus USB Travel Adapter

A universal travel adapter that is well designed and dependable. I love that it also comes with a USB version so I can charge other gadgets like my Kindle.

AMAZON Lightweight Tripod

Since I travel solo from time to time, a tripod is important, or else how am I gonna get myself in the photo? Hehe.

BELKIN Multi-Plug Outlet

Mini Surge Protector with USB Charger

Tell me I’m not the only one that brings a multi-plug outlet when I travel. Or else I will never have enough time to charge my camera, mobile and laptop in time! 😉

SENNHAISER Earphones

Sennhaiser In-Ear Canal Headset

I only use Sennheiser’s earpieces, preferring it way over brands like Klipsch or Sony. Sennheiser provides amazing bass in the perfect amount and not overly heavy. Cancelling noise out during flights is really useful, or if I’m listening to podcasts no matter where I am.

Packing Gear

Packing cubes

Organising your stuff into this kind of packing cubes makes travelling way easier.

Compression cubes

A little different from normal packing cubes – compression cubes do what they say – compress your things into tighter ones to save more luggage space.

Digital Luggage Scale

Very important especially if you’re gonna be taking budget airlines including domestic airlines like RyanAir in Europe, where they’re superrrr strict about baggage weight limits! This scale is small and light, but so helpful!

Flight & Travel Essentials

Multi-purpose travel pouch organiser

Not too sure how anyone can travel without a travel pillow, but I make sure to have one with me on my flights and road-trips. In fact, I go as far as making sure my sleeping eyeshades are packed too. These items make a whole world of difference!

Compression socks

Although I try to walk along the aisle now and then during my flights & also do simple yoga stretches at the galley, sometimes it’s just not too convenient especially if I’m taking the window seat. So I take no chance with flights more than 4 hours – by wearing compression socks! Compression socks made from breathable fabric are my preference.

Thermos Water-Bottle

At available airports, I’ll refill my bottle after clearing security, right before boarding. To reduce waste, I carry my own water-bottle, better if it can hold hot beverages for my coffee, ginger tea or simply warm water while I explore a destination.

Hand-cream

My hands start drying up in flights. I love having a small tube of hand-cream for easy application, especially for the sake of my fingers and cuticles. In cold weather, hand-cream is a must!

Foam earplugs

Earplugs help loads for attempts to fall asleep on flights, especially when plane engines can be so loud. Or sometimes, it gets a bit difficult to fall asleep on solo trips. I now carry earplugs on my trips!

Blackmores ginger tablets

I actually don’t fancy medication and supplements, but as I’m prone to motion-sickness especially when doing activities like dune-basing at Abu Dhabi’s desert, or driving through the roads of Bhutan, these ginger pills provide a lot of relief for me.
