I spent most of my time exploring, but there were still quite a few places I didn’t get to go.
I went in winter, so Fira and Oia were really empty! Not kidding, lol. Summer will be a different case though.
]]>I’m wondering did you find enough things to do there (that you didn’t end up on the phone/computer etc)?
Since you made a friend while you were there, were there places it was easy to meet people? All images I see are of people in private pools!
Hi! The photos here were mostly taken with a camera 🙂
]]>I am ok with solo trips.. have done a few.
]]>Thank you Jonathan! I went in January 🙂
]]>Hi Zafirah! My hotel provided airport transfer free of charge and I landed at night so it was pretty dark and I didn’t have time to note anything else, oops! I met a solo traveller in Santorini and she told me she took the bus at the airport in the daytime – you might wanna check up about that and also taxi options.
As for getting around in Santorini, I either walk if it’s walking distance or take the buses at Fira. Briefly covered the transport options on this post, have a look 🙂 –> https://thepetitewanderess.com/santorini-low-season/
The transport options shd be similar by more frequent for May as I went in January which was super low-season. The crowd levels will be different though, fyi!
Let me know if you have any more questions =)
]]>Thanks Eryn! Choosing the right season helps, at least for me. I can’t imagine doing it in peak season. Navigating crowded restaurants is really something I don’t fancy, *gulps*. All the best for your travels!
]]>Agreeing with you, Karla, that being with someone requires a different set of skills and energy ;)) Everything in its time, that’s what I believe. Thank you for coming by. Happy travels too!
]]>Yes Darlene! It’s something like Maldives, which I still don’t have the guts to do it solo… yet. Maybe one day, maybe. Thank you for the compliment!
]]>Ooohhh, I could go on and on about doing solo trips. If you try it one day, I hope your first solo trip will be awesome as well!
]]>Our lists only keep growing ya! 😉 I would love to see other parts of this country when I can make it too!
]]>Thanks dear! That dog made my trip better, hehe! It’s so cute that he followed me everywhere in Oia =D
]]>It will be a nice destination to enjoy with yur partner. Hope you guys get there one day =)
]]>Thanks Ashlee! I can’t imagine visiting Santorini solo in peak season though, it might be really overwhelming!
]]>Thank you dear! Picking the non-peak season helped loads ^^
]]>Yes, i totally get it that its a destination for couples and newlyweds but being by yourself is also good!
Trust me on this one, being with someone else for a long time can take its toll and some alone time is a big relief
Its the complete opposite in Asia where i loved for 2 years in Seoul. I had no choice but to eat alone and travel solo but i grew so much and am truly grateful for that.
Being restless and adventurous, I’d definitely go after what i just read! Beautifully written! Well done.
Will catch up with the series now
Happy travels!
]]>Hope you get to go soon, Agness! (ps: just don’t go during summer as I’ve heard horror stories about the crowds.) I haven’t been to Crete though!
]]>Thanks Sheena! Hope you can visit it soon!
]]>Sheena
]]>Although there’re no pictures of me with a smiling face (lol), I’m glad you felt the joy translated through this post. Solo travel is empowering!
]]>Do share the secret too
]]>Great to hear that Katy! We’re not limited by old-school ways of thought anymore, yeah!
]]>Thank you Katie! Someone commented on my other post in the site that it’s amazing there were no humans in my photos at all, ha. It was indeed that quiet! Hope this doesn’t change 😉
]]>Thank you Katie! It was a really last-minute trip for me so I didn’t really get to choose the season though. Depending on your travel style, will be good to check out whether it’s peak or shoulder or low season to do the solo trip! All the best!
]]>Thank you for visiting, Punita! The right timing helped heaps I believe! Low-season instead of peak season.
