Calanthe Art Cafe along the famous Jonker Street of Malacca, prides itself for being the only cafe in Malacca that serves coffee from all 13 states of Malaysia. The cafe also features quirky decor within and good local food, according to reviews.
Over the extended weekend public holiday in May 2014, we hopped over to Malacca for a short trip. True to reviews, Calanthe, in fact, turned out to be way above my expectations! We were snatching to eat more of the bowl of delicious nonya laksa (no photos because my travel-mates tucked in before I took a photo). I’m missing the springy fishcake balls happily floating inside the laksa! The iced drinks were a welcome respite from the heat outside.
The wonderful part of Calanthe Art Cafe has got to be its quirky decor that covers every available space your eyes wander to. The items were really random, full of character, nolstagia as well as the snippets of wisdom spread over the entire interior of the spacious cafe. Every corner is a photo opportunity!

Update: I visited Calanthe Art Cafe again in Nov 2015 and sad to say, the standards of its signature nonya laksa has dropped a lot. The cafe has more decorations than ever, though!
